The answer is simple. It doesn’t. The purpose of We Are Florists is to support real local florists and help them compete with the big international flower websites. There’s no commission, no cut, no service fee taken from your order.

Of course, nothing is truly free. Every florist featured on We Are Florists has their own website powered by Florist Window, and they pay a fixed monthly fee for that service. That’s how the platform is funded, not by taking a slice of your order.

So when you spend £40 on flowers, you can feel confident that your full £40 (less the usual card processing fee) goes straight to the florist, just as it would if you had walked into their shop. You get £40 worth of flowers, and the florist receives the full value.

Does this always happen elsewhere?
Only when you buy direct from a florist’s own website. Many national websites are actually order-gathering platforms. They take your order, skim off a commission or add a service charge, and then pass the rest on to a florist.
